Projects

The Aimhigher South Yorkshire Strategic Plan for 2008-11 outlines the idea that activities will "...transform the lives of young people by making higher education accessible and a rational choice for all those with the capacity to progress."

Our projects have the following principles

• change learner identities by adding to learners' social, educational and cultural capital
• change institutional cultures and practices to facilitate progression amongst the target groups

These principles will be achieved through a variety of projects arranged around 4 broad themes which will form a coherent "learner journey".

These themes are:

• raising aspirations, awareness and motivation
• enhanced information, advice and guidance
• raising attainment at levels 2 and 3
• area wide support
