The South Yorkshire Aimhigher Partnership

celebrate aimhigher

The close partnership working which has developed in South Yorkshire between schools, local authorities, colleges and South Yorkshire HE institutions over the past few years is set to continue. Plans are currently being developed for the next phase of Aimhigher from 2008-11 at school, college, university, local authority and South Yorkshire area levels. These will involve a progressive, developmental and sequential series of interventions which form a 'learning journey'.

Partnership activities will be focussed on closing the social class gap in higher education participation. Learners from socio economic groups 4-8 of the National Statistics classification will be the main targets; learners with a disability and 'looked after' children will form secondary target groups.

The partnership will also be engaged in documenting and providing robust evidence of the impact of Aimhigher interventions.
