Building Financial Futures 3, Brooklands Hotel, Barnsley
48 delegates attended the third Aimhigher Building Financial Futures event, held at Brooklands Hotel, Barnsley. The event concentrated on the financial attractiveness of HE for individuals from socially-deprived backgrounds, and Aimhigher South Yorkshire's response in terms of recognition of the ongoing importance of increasing financial literacy from an early age. The event aimed to equip delegates with the information necessary to offer clientsappropriate information , advice and guidance in making their HE choices
Presentations at the event were from Pam Eccles of the Personal Finance Education Group, (PFEG), and Jane Woodford, Rotherham Credit Union Development Agency. Workshops offered to the delegates included; State Benefits and HE, Working with 11-14 year olds on Financial Literacy, Recent Experiences of the Student Financial Journey, and Enterprise Education, a schools perspective.
