Aimhigher South Yorkshire CPD Programme - 26 June 2008
Research Network
Held at The Source at Meadowhall, Sheffield the 2008 Research network seminar covered updates on a range of research activities. Research is a vital component of the widening participation agenda. It enables us to understand the under-represented groups we are trying to reach; to be able to target better our activities; and to measure the impact we are having. This event provided an opportunity for those involved in widening participation to engage with research activity which has relevance to such.
Allan Johnson, Aimhigher Coordinator, Sheffield City Council, updated the meeting on 'The Aimhigher South Yorkshire Database'. Dr Diane Burns, Research Associate, University of Sheffield, updated delegates on Mentoring Research. Tamsin Bowers-Brown and Joanne Gledhill, Centre for Research and Evaluation, Sheffield Hallam University presented on Evaluation: examples of good practice and recommendations - 'A case study of PPP'. Robert Walker, Sheffield City Council covered Evidencing the Impact of Playing for Success at Key Stage 2 - An Innovative Approach to Research Methodology
