Aimhigher Mental Health Seminar - 20 May 2009

This seminar, aimed at staff within schools and colleges who support students with mental health difficulties, took place on 20 May 2009 at the University of Sheffield.  Approximately 30 professionals from South Yorkshire attended, including delegates from Aimhigher, FE Colleges, Connexions Advisors and university staff with a support role.

As part of the Disability Outreach Project the seminar included presentations from mental health professionals within Disability Services at both the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University.  The session aimed to provide information about the support available in HE and how to access this support as well as encouraging successful transitions for students with mental health difficulties into HE.
