Welcome to Aimhigher Rotherham

What is Aimhigher?

Aimhigher is about inspiring young people to consider higher education as an option for the future, especially those who come from families and communities with little or no history of HE. When it comes down to who does, or does not, get the opportunity to benefit from Higher Education, there are still too many inequalities. For example, people living in the most advantaged areas are six times more likely to enter Higher Education than those living in the more deprived areas.

Aimhigher exists to make sure that those people who have not, until now, had an equal opportunity to make the most of their education, are given the chance to do so - whatever their race, gender, disability, sexual orientation and age - and regardless of where they happened to be born! Aimhigher's role is to reduce the barriers to Higher Education and to contribute directly to the Government's target of 50% of 18- 30 year olds having the opportunity to participate in Higher Education by 2010.
