Aimhigher Communications Network

The national communications strategy for 2008-11 recognises that area partnerships are likely to require additional support in delivering communications activity following the withdrawal of a separate funding stream for the regions and the disbandment of the Regional Communications Forum.

To help achieve this, partnerships were asked to identify an area communications lead (ACL) to become part of a national Aimhigher Communications Network led by the National Communications Resource Team (NCRT) with support from Action on Access and HERO Ltd.

The creation of this network will enable the NCRT to provide more focused support to areas which, in turn, will help to embed communications knowledge and skills within partnerships, building capacity for the future. In addition, the ACLs will play a valuable role in the national communications campaign by providing relevant and timely information about local programme delivery.
