Disabled Student Ambassador Scheme

This report summarises the findings and recommendations of a 3-year evaluation (2006-2009) of the 'Sir John Cass’s Foundation London ambassador scheme for learners with disabilities'. The scheme is a collaboration between the London East Thames Gateway Aimhigher Partnership and the AchieveAbility National Network and focuses on learners in secondary schools with specific learning differences, sensory impairments, physical impairments and autistic spectrum conditions. The scheme works to raise awareness of the opportunities in FE and HE and to increase aspiration and progression to higher education among learners with disabilities through support provided by disabled HE student ambassadors. The project, which is ongoing, was supported by the Sir John Cass's Foundation from 2006-2009. www.sirjohncass.org
